True EV thought leadership
The need for EVs continues to soar as the world turns towards sustainable mobility solutions. With such a huge change underway, the logistics industry is quickly adapting to handle this surge in demand.
With the topography in constant flux, versatility is key. That said, it can be difficult to keep fully abreast of these changes whilst circumventing unwanted delays in your supply chain.
Our latest podcast series aims to give you the answers you’ve been searching for, providing you with a digestible and expert take on the status quo of EV logistics, so you can confidently meet your client’s needs.
Episode #1: Chinese EVs and cars in containers
For the debut instalment in our latest podcast series, we dive into one of the sector’s most recent changes, the emergent “cars in containers” market.
With more consumers in Europe and North America demanding Chinese EVs, the pressure to deliver them is booming at an exponential rate. To keep up, more manufacturers are shifting to container shipping to deliver their EVs, leaving traditional RORO vessels in their wake.
But what’s driving the change? Container ships generally have faster transit times than traditional RORO vessels, promoting both efficiency and flexibility. Staggered delivery helps manufactures operate at optimum inventory whilst reducing associated costs. There’s also the matter of security—containers are less prone to theft and keep cars safe from the elements.
