Road Logistics: Italy - EU Digital COVID Certificate
Date: October 19, 2021
Italy has introduced a new directive regarding Covid-19-measures. From October 15, 2021, drivers will have to provide a COVID certificate (also known as "Green Pass") certifying vaccination, recovery or a negative test result (of a molecular test carried out in the last 72 hours or an antigen test carried out in the last 48 hours) before loading and unloading. According to the directive, the German vaccination certificate is equivalent to the "EU Digital COVID Certificate", thus the presentation of an Italian document will not be necessary.
Our KN locations in Italy have already ensured that drivers can load and unload with the EU-valid certificate. However, due to the prolonged decision-making process of the Italian government, local market participants have in the meantime implemented their own regulations, which could potentially disrupt the smooth loading and unloading process.
Please ensure with your partners and clients that the European certificate can be easily presented and accepted when carrying out cargo transports in order to disrupt the loading and unloading process as little as possible.
Full details of the EU digital COVID certificate can be found here.
